El Faro in Concord

One of my favorite Mexican restaurants on Monument. Everything I've ordered has been delicious. Good prices too. It can get a bit busy around lunch time but usually is fairly fast.

I have been eating at El Faro' for about 50 years. I Love everything they serve.

Best Mexican food in town. Been here for longer than I have and I've been here for over 40 years it was really good in the 70s and it still is really the best restaurant on Monument Mexican food. Enjoy

In my opinion this is the best Mexican restaurant in the concord area. Chile relleno & pork tamale are delicious.

I celebrated my PhD last night in this great place. Well it was a enjoyable evening and the place was certainly one of the reasons for that happy event. The waiters helped in a gorgeous way, the cooking was extremely good and my friends were so thrilled. We shall no dout come back again for more events. thanks very much.

Best place decent prices awesome old guy . Get the California burrito and tortilla soup

Normally the food is great. But this time it was very bland. Don't know if they got a new cook but definitely left something to be desired.

The taco salad is small and mostly lettuce!! Complete rip off...wasn’t good either or anywhere worth the money!!! Taco Bell makes a bigger salad than this place ! Which says a lot.... Never AGAIN!! Wish I never went here...

Huge burrito; reasonable prices and quite tasty. However there was no AC. Not the best situation on a 100+ day

Our family's favorite family style Mexican restaurant. Chile Verde is our go to meal. Quality at a very reasonable price!

My lunch at El Faro was one to forget, my fish tacos were super hot (temperature wise) and consisted of a stale soft taco tortilla and a smidge of lettuce. A pity. Across the table a burrito did not look appealing either. It was sent back unfinished. I am not an expert in Mexican food but I can say that El Faro has no business pretending to offer some.

Can't go wrong at EL FARO. The Monument Special always hits the spot.

Amazing authentic Mexican, I love their beans with cheese (side). And I always get their Super Asada Burito, I don’t know what it is, but they are so good. I guess it’s the combination of good rice, beans and the amount of cheese they use. So yummy, I got addicted on the first bite!!! Keep the recipe going, don’t change it!

Should not charge for rice in a breakfast burrito. But it was delicious and filling.

Prices are super reasonable! Food is excellent! I love their chili relleno and rice and beans! I plan to attend there when I go to Costco to get gas. yum yum yum

Boy does this place have staying power I remember this place since before I lived here which was 48 years ago. It was awesome Mexican food back in the 70s and it has not changed one bit so beautiful arranged restaurant but mainly and most importantly the food is OMG I would think this is my absolute favorite Mexican restaurant ever and has been here well over 40 some years. The food tastes like it did back then and it was awesome and it's awesome now. I can't say enough there are not enough words LOL I just really love this place it's clean it's courteous people are nice. Whatever they got they should bottle it but it would be ruined if it was turned into a franchise so enjoy having it here in our hometown. Where's the lucky ones

People here are so sweet and give quick and awesome service. Being from Sacramento I'm a little spoiled with more traditional plates that taste like Grandma's kitchen in Guadalajara. Food is hot and fresh and hits the spot if you are starving. Menudo on salty side, but honeycomb tripe and pata tasted great.

Decent food. THERE'S BETTER MEXICAN FOOD PLACES. Service was ok. The older lunch time gentleman cashier needs to be replaced by someone who is FRIENDLY & SMILES!! Nothing exciting here folks.

I've eaten here on and off since the early 1980s, and it has always been okay. Not the best, but certainly not the worst. All things considered, a good bet if you're driving up Monument Blvd. towards Costco.

Good food but the ladies often act like they dont want your there. They seem angry and never smile or say thank you etc...overall impolite

Only ate here once as part of a group order through a delivery service. The beans seemed watered down, and the chilaquiles were boring. Little flavor to the sauce, and no cheese or sour cream that the menu promises. They didn't even make one of the plates we ordered (and paid for) so one person had no lunch :( When we called they said they would cook it, but there was no one available (through a third party) to deliver it so it didnt work out. My friend's enchiladas looked like soup. No one of the 5 enjoyed the food. Like pizza, bad mexican food is still delicious, but for the first time ever, I didn't even finish.

El farouq is a great Mexican burrito place with a big variety of food.

I love this place I've been going here for years. They have fast service and also very friendly people who work there. Great prices an amazing food! I highly recommend going to this place! Very small place that packs a powerful punch!

Love the food at El Faros, it is authentic Mexican food that never fails, I have been going here for over 20 yrs. Food stayed the same quality and great service.

I have been coming here for years. A lot longer than the Costco has been next door which is why I come here now. The tasty local favorite is a great alternative to the Costco food court. Being able to have a beer with my chorizo burrito is a plus.

Whenever I am in Concord I make sure I stop by El Faro! The food is always very tasty and they have a wide variety of menu options. If you like Mexican then it is hard to go wrong here. It's a fast food design place where you stand in line to order your food and then go sit. It's nothing fancy .. just really good. I can't wait to go back.

Though basic, the menu is carried and the food is fairly authentic, if a little bland. I like the enchiladas, the burritos, and the bowls. Their hot sauce is tasty.

Grew up going here when growing up in Concord in the 80's and 90's. Went straight there when I was back in town in January and it didn't disappoint. Still some of the best Mexican food in the east bay!
